This little penguin, with such ridiculous eyebrows, had to make its way into the book. English explorers named the macaroni penguin in the mid-eighteenth century, when a young man who wore flashy feathers in his hat would be called a ‘macaroni’. Quite an apt name for a bird with such a dandy appearance.
