Often dubbed the unicorn of the sea, this mysterious whale has a sword-like spiralled horn growing out of its upper jaw, most commonly found on males. This horn is actually a tooth, one of only two the narwhal has, and can grow up to 10ft (3m) long and contains up to 10 million nerve endings.
